I am a Nationally Certified (NBCC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Idaho, with a Master's Degree in Counseling.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in a program approved by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).

My work with clients is rooted in:

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy: How you feel is rooted in what you think, and distorted ideas can interfere with our relationships and cause us pain. We can change the way we think, and in so doing give ourselves power to change our emotions.

  • Solution-Focused Therapy: Focusing on and learning from areas in our lives that are working now makes it possible to duplicate those successes in areas that are not working well.

  • Logotherapy: Life has meaning under all circumstances, and meaning can become our greatest motivating force. It is up to each of us to find it in our own lives.

I began counseling in 2004, and my experience has included work with disadvantaged youth, college students and adults. I opened my private counseling practice in 2015 after retiring as Director of Career and Counseling Services at the College of Southern Idaho. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, and my early career was concentrated in business, including time with an international transportation and logistics company, a regional food and agriculture company, and a small family-run business. This diversity of experiences has been valuable in work with clients whose professional lives have been interrupted or become stagnant.

Southern Idaho has been my home for over 20 years; in addition to my private practice, I am a volunteer for Kids Count Too!, a nonprofit serving children experiencing bereavement.
